MANDEM is a conglomerate three-bodied artist identity fronted by Maize Arendsee (MFA, Studio Art) with co-artists and studio assistants Kitsuko and Moco Steinman-Arendsee. We work across media and materials, destabilizing genre in terms of content and media. Our work explores the visceral and disabled body, art history, religious iconography, and issues of gender and desire. MANDEM has been widely exhibited and published and has received numerous juror and publication awards.
