“If you obey the rules, you miss all the fun.” –Katherine Hepburn

I started creating these photographic composites during the long months of the Covid-19 quarantine. Taking to the woods everyday with my dogs, I began shooting images of the beautiful flora and fauna all around me as one season progressed into another, and then another, etc. Soon these elaborate composites began taking shape within my mind and I began translating them onto the computer screen and then into print.

Sensing a sadness or loneliness permeating the world around me then and now, I began creating these images to tell stories, producing make-believe composites and exaggerating the truth a bit. I want to take the viewer into my scenes so that they to begin to fabricate their own stories. If you take the time to observe the nuances, you might be able to discover hidden gems within the composites.

Expanding my creativity with these themes, I create innovative ways to navigate different ways of living within the confines of Covid.  And with that came more opportunities within my art. I am continuing this series of composites to extoll the beauty of life and the sense of reality that nature gives to us.
