Many components of Djapo Cultural Arts Institute’s 17th Annual Sacred Threads Culture Fest are free and open to the public, including select community activities, youth programming, vendor marketplace experiences, and cultural gatherings. Paid admission is required for workshops, special immersive experiences, and select evening programming, including the “Night of Unity” immersive cultural experience at Cleveland Public Theatre.
Advance registration is strongly encouraged, though limited tickets and workshop spaces may be available at the door pending capacity. Discounted rates and scholarship opportunities may be available for youth, students, community groups, and families. Additional festival experiences include an opening libation and community gathering on Friday evening, immersive late-night programming during the “Night of Unity” immersive cultural experience at Cleveland Public Theatre, post-workshop community dialogue and artist engagement opportunities throughout the weekend, youth and family-centered activities, live mural painting, vendor marketplace experiences, and a closing reflection circle titled “The Final Weave” designed to encourage collective healing, connection, and cultural exchange. Participants are encouraged to attend multiple workshops and community events across the full three-day festival experience.
