Artist-Educators: Part-time, and Contract Positions
Organizational Background:
Since 2002, Arts Impact (Formerly Progressive Arts Alliance) has been bringing learning to life through art by exciting
students, teachers, and the general public with dynamic arts programs that integrate art into the curriculum. ArtsImpact
brings art to the classroom, and builds collaborative partnerships with teachers in a variety of art forms while providing
inclusive and culturally responsive programs. Our specialized group of professional artists build an environment that
helps students learn, imagine, create and innovate in schools, libraries and after-school programs throughout the
community.
Seeking Artists:
We are currently looking to build our team of teaching artists by hiring a professional who can teach a variety of visual
art forms. We are especially interested in digital animation, mural design, installation, mixed media, graphic design,
photography, and filmmaking.
Qualifications:
• Creative, flexible, working artist committed to excellence
• Experience in working with children
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to develop write lesson plans, or the willingness to learn
• Experience working collaboratively
• Positive attitude and respect for children and their ability to learn
• On-going commitment to strengthening teaching practice through feedback, professional development, and
collaboration
• Ability to perform administrative duties related to lesson plans, scheduling, and evaluation
• Bachelor's degree and experience as a teaching artist preferred
• Commitment to arts education and arts integration as an approach to empowering student achievement
