About Praxis

Praxis Fiber Workshop is a nationally recognized textile arts organization in Cleveland’s Waterloo Arts District. Praxis operates the largest open residency program for digital weaving in the world and is currently expanding into a multi-building campus including a public indigo studio, crop-to-cloth retail store, artist housing, and youth education spaces.

Role Overview

Praxis is seeking a resourceful, hands-on Development Manager to help build and grow our fundraising efforts during a period of major expansion.

This role is ideal for someone who is both strategic and action-oriented, someone who can develop a plan, execute it, and adjust quickly. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director to increase revenue, strengthen donor relationships, and expand support beyond our current network.

This is not a maintenance role, it’s a building role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute annual and campaign-based fundraising efforts
  • Write and send appeals, emails, and donor communications
  • Identify and reach out to new supporters beyond Praxis’s current network
  • Help move donors from interest → engagement → giving
  • Manage day-to-day donation flow (processing, acknowledgements)
  • Work with Giving Insight (CRM) to keep things organized and actionable
  • Test ideas, track what works, and adjust quickly

Ideal Candidate

  • 2–5+ years experience in fundraising, development, or a related role
  • Highly self-directed and proactive—able to move work forward independently
  • Comfortable working in a growing, evolving organization
  • Strong writer and communicator
  • Able to balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution
  • Confident building relationships and reaching out to new people
  • Interest in arts, community, or cultural work

Why This Role

Praxis is in a period of rapid growth, expanding our campus, programs, and national visibility. This role is an opportunity to help build the fundraising engine of the organization at a critical moment.
